Makeup question

greetings everybody.
I found this online and figured i'd give it a try. I am in need of a makeup suggestion that will fit my current budget, $10.

I am just starting to shoot a reverse zombie movie where the zombies are extremly intelligent while the humans are retarded. My delimma falls in the zombie makeup. I cannot find a durable enough makeup. Right now i am using a paper mache type mixture of flour and water and scraps of paper for rotted flesh. Though this looks quite good, the zombies have a tendancy to fall apart when they eat someone.

I was just wondering if anybody had any ideas as to what i should use. Buying real makeup or prothetics is out of the question because i am on a serious time restraint, but any other suggestions?

didn't Romero's original use felt-tip pens on the eyes and lips n stuff?

Indeed he did. He also had a penchant for using watered down oil paint for the pasty skin look. I need something that looks like its rotting but durable. If that makes any sense at all. Get where i'm headed? I've got my eyes and lips down, but i need something for the face.

Yeah he did. I was debating upon making a jump to colour though, so was briefly entertaining the thought of a higher quality makeup job.

yeah he did. I was briefly entertaining the idea of switching to colour though. That way it has a more realistic quality, so i need a more realistic makeup. Like in Day of the Dead, only not as advanced. Something that is durable yet shows decompisition. Plus, i kind of themed each scene with a certain colour scheme,like Hero if you've seen it. In a strange sense, it is almost turning artful. An artfully horrific comedy. What a strange concept.
